Laura Kitto was presented with a prestgious award for National Water Week. Mr Ray Smith, general manager of the Bland Shire, presented Laura with her award. The campaign was initiated to involve students between pre-school and year 12 in an important conversation surroudning the conservation of water.
Laura completed an informative poster that outlined water usage for various produce. Her poster was one of three winners selected from 13 schools that entered. Laura's placing in this competition resulted in her receiving a $1000 prize pack of Smart WaterMark approved products for our school. These products will allow our school to improve our soil, water our lawns and manage our land in a more efficent manner. In addition to the prize pack our school will also receive a free Water Efficiency Audit, courtesy of Irrigation Australia.
Laura's certificate reads,
"Young Australians like you are custodians of the nation's future water use and are best placed to embrace and respect the life force that is water. This certificate represents our gratitude for your winning creative effort as part of our Water Week Competition 2019. We want to thanks you and commend you for showing us what you think and love about water. Keep up the great work! Congratulations."
