This week on assembly (Friday 13th March) Mackenzie Parkes spoke to students about her experiences of completing her School Based Traineeship of a Certificate 3 in Education Support. Mackenzie told students about the benefits of SBATs including the ability to gain a qualification while still in school and being able to transition straight into the workforce after graduating. She also emphasised the benefit of gaining valuable workforce skills and the SBATs contribution to her units of study in which she only has to do 3 subjects within school instead of the regular 5.
Trevor Lanyon then spoke to students about the Brower’s Walk “Toddle off to Toppy” to raise money for Can-Assist and Country Hope. Mr Lanyon discussed the past walks and the money they raised for Can Assist and encouraged students to form a team and register to participate in the walk from Barnado Park to Toppy. If you wish to take part registration can be found at Quade Moncrieff Livestock & Property.
To conclude the assembly Elsa Holland and Halle Donaldson spoke about the Year 7 Wollongong excursion where they took part in various experiences such as beach safety lessons, practised Tai Chi and went to Jamberoo waterpark. They thanked all the teachers involved and played a slideshow of their time away.
