Wednesday Morning Professional Learning Activities

Each Wednesday morning our staff spend the first hour of their day, beginning at 8:30, receiving some professional development to ensure that we are up to date with current educational trends and procedures.

This term we have looked at Student Engagement and Motivation as we continue to tailor our teaching to the specific needs of our students. We have also looked at Filmpond, a DEC initiative to create and publish short videos of what we are achieving at WWHS and this week staff were taken through the Clickview program – an educational resource to tailor our audiovisual stimulus to more effectively engage our students.

Every third week the staff breaks into Faculty meetings where subject specific professional development occurs.

These activities, coupled with staff travelling to professional development activities and online video conferencing courses ensures that our staff continue to develop their skills and knowledge to benefit our students' learning.
