On this week's assembly (Wednesday 13th March) Mr Watson spoke to the students about the chess competition.
This was then followed by a reminder to students that the library is open to students most Wednesday afternoons.
Our leadership team spoke about the anti-bullying day that is on Friday the 16th March. On this day Australian schools will stand united in their communities to celebrate the eighth National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence (NDA). This day is a key event for schools which asks them to imagine a world without bullying and the confidence and happiness this kind of world would create.
The leaders talked about what bullying is and how its prevention is everybody's responsibility and how important it is to seek help from staff. The leaders pointed out that bully's only bully for reaction and how pitiful these types of people are. They reminded us to not let them win.
On this national Anti-bullying Day a special assembly was held that discussed and restated the bullying address from Wednesday's assembly. The assembly talked thoroughly about bullying, its impact and what we, as a school and as individuals can do to stop bullying in its tracks. This assembly was very important and touched all students. It is our hope to have a school free from bullying and only we, ourselves can make this happen.
If you are a bully, you have to opportunity to save a life, just by stopping bullying.
