On August 29th, three of our debating teams travelled to Leeton to compete in the Leeton Eisteddfod. The teams had prepared for a couple of weeks, during their lunchtimes, under the tutelage of Ms Dwyer and Mr Meredith. The teams consisted of Jeddi Sannga, Matilda Brown, Beth Fixter, Annaleise Stokes, Abi McCubben, Oscar Mason, Lydia White, Molly Cattle, Kate Kitto and Lydia Wells. The three debating topics were: 1. Everyone needs a cotton singlet. 2. Every subject should be debated and 3. We are fighting for peace. Whilst the teams lost their debates, all in closely contested competitions, all three teams received praise from the adjudicators and competition convenors. The teams were complimented on their sportsmanship, manners, public speaking skills and preparation.
