TOM KEMP (UNDER 16'S) RUGBY LEAGUE.
On Wednesday May 17, the West Wyalong High School under 16's Rugby League side travelled to Condobolin.
In a very physical game of Rugby League, the West Wyalong side came home with 36 points to 28 points victory. The boys played a solid brand of Rugby League and exploited the Condobolin defence on the edges. The defence of both sides was hard with many big hits throughout the game.
Tries were scored by Ebenezer Sannga, Isaac Tukuafu, Jake Jewell, Jack Parkes, Myles Harland, Billy Jones and Lachlan Miller. Billy Jones (3) and Jasper Loudon (1) kicked the conversions.
The team consisted of Joe Amarant, Cody Cooper, Rhyle Davis, Joe Fixter, Myles Harland, Jake Jewell, Billy Jones, Harry Judd, Jasper Loudon, Lachlan Miller, Jack Parkes, Kobe Pursehouse, Heath Redmond, Toby Rees, Ethan Rowe, Ebenezer Sannga, Isaac Tukuafu and Toby Whyte.
UNIVERSITY SHIELD RUGBY LEAGUE (OPENS)
On Thursday May 18, the University Shield side (Opens) travelled to Wellington. The boys played a very spirited game and were defeated 30 points to 28 points.
The team were very solid in defence throughout the game and found holes in attack. They penetrated the Wellington defence outside on many occasions. The boys should be very proud of their efforts. The side was very young and never gave up at any stage of the game. Thank you to the young boys who stepped up and played outstanding games. The tries were scored by Ethan Rowe, Shannan Cooper, Max Jones, and Harry Judd (2) and Jack Parkes kicked 4 conversions.
The team consisted of Joe Amarant, Cody Cooper, Shannan Cooper, Bill Gillespie, Max Jones, Harry Judd, Brendan McKenzie Dylan McKenzie, Jack Parkes, Ethan Rowe, Angus Sutcliffe, Jordon Ungaro, Myles Harland, Toby Whyte and Billy Jones.
BUCKLEY SHIELD RUGBY LEAGUE (UNDER 14'S)
On Tuesday 23 May, the boys travelled to Nyngan for Round 3 of the Buckley Shield CHS Rugby League competition. After four hours on the bus we arrived in Nyngan and were faced with very wet conditions. The team were outstanding in defence but let themselves down in attack due to the slippery surface. Nyngan controlled the ball better throughout the game and came away with a 16 points to 14 points victory. The West Wyalong side should be very proud of their efforts
Try scorers for this game were Dylan McCartney, Logan Collins and Hayden Cooper with a conversion to Hayden Cooper.
The team consisted of Logan Collins, Jack Jamieson, Luke Cameron, Hayden Cooper, Rowan Duncan, Bobby Jones, Dylan McCartney, Oscar Wood, Mitchell Collins, Zane Lemon, Charlie Tulloch, Brody Herden, Charlie McCaskie, Max Wilson and Brady Lebner.
COUNTRY CUP RUGBY LEAGUE
On Wednesday May 31, West Wyalong High School travelled to Cootamundra to compete in a Country Cup under 13's and under 15's carnival. Both sides played three games showing outstanding sportsmanship and good skills.
The Under 13s team defeated Hennessy Catholic College 18 to 6, defeated Temora 24 to 18 and lost to Tumut 22 to 10.
The Under 15s team defeated Temora 26 to 22, lost to Hennessy Catholic College 30 to 4 and lost to Tumut 36 to 6.
The under 13's team consisted of Charlie McCaskie, Jaxon Lemon, Brady Lebner, Dylan Davies, Jack Jameison, Brody Herden, Samuel Norton, Ryan Donaldson, Zane Lemon, Michael Simiyu, Rhiley Butcher, Max Wilson, Lachie Worner, Talon Crouch, Dylan Harrison and Zac Hanrahan.
The under 15's team consisted of Jake Jewell, Jacob Lebner, Logan Collins, Myles Harland, Nick Wells, Jasper Loudon, Bobby Jones, Dylan McCartney, Joe Fixter, Toby Whyte, Mitchell Collins, Isaac Tukuafu, Billy Jones, Toby Rees, Mackenzie Brown, Rhlye Davis and Kayden Stanton.
