On Friday 26th May, fourteen West Wyalong High School students headed to Leeton to play in the final of the year 7- 9 League Tag. Five teams participated in the day. These included Mater Dai Catholic College, Wagga High, Hay High, Temora and West Wyalong High.
The girls came up against Temora High School in the first game and displayed brilliant defence to keep Temora scoreless. The score for this game was 8-0.The second game was against Hay High School, which was a hard fought game that also displayed the girls solid defence as West Wyalong again won 4-0. The final two games of the day were against Wagga High and Mater Dai. The girls stepped up to the standard of both schools, but were defeated in both games. They worked together brilliantly as a team to keep the score to 10 -0 against Wagga High and 14-4 against Mater Dai, who were the eventual winners of the final.
The girls should be extremely proud of their efforts and the fantastic sportsmanship that they displayed. Congratulations to Georgia Miller who was awarded player of the day for West Wyalong.
The team consisted of Rhylee Lemon, Lana Leadbitter, Marney Jameison, Courtney West, Nicole Caldow, Bree Franklin, Kady Amarant, Georgia Miller, Summer Rees, Millie Rees, Jade Lawrence, Chelsea Collins, Paige Lawrence and Laura Ridley.
