Three of our major volunteer groups have been thanked over the last few weeks.
Evolution Mines called in last week with Polo Shirts and pizzas for our students who had volunteered to be accident victims during the Mines Rescue Challenge last term.
Our close working relationship with Evolution Mines is important to us and we thank them for giving our students yet another unique opportunity to learn and engage in our community. The pizzas and shirts were good too!
West Wyalong High School students have worked hard at the Riding for Disabled throughout the year. Sarah and her hard working team formally thanked the students who volunteered from West Wyalong High School with a BBQ. These volunteers were awarded the most outstanding group for 2017 at the recent presentation day. During the year, these students have groomed and assisted with handling horses, raked and bagged manure (which has helped raise over $500!) and assisted with keeping the facility looking great! Well done team!
The students who volunteered at Waratah Village were also thanked and given a certificate of appreciation for their efforts. Students have helped with nail care, playing games and entertaining the residents. The students enjoy this time just as much as the residents and are extremely keen to continue this wonderful relationship with the community.
