As part of the Engage University Outreach program, student volunteers from Australian National University in Canberra (ANU) came to West Wyalong High School on the 21st of November.
They ran two sessions for our students. One for thirty of our Year 10 students and the other was for thirty of our Year 9 students.
The sessions were Engineers Without Borders Water for Life workshops. The students learnt about the importance of fresh water and then created their own water filter from provided filtration materials. This was then tested with dirty water.
At the end of these sessions students were engaged in a question answer and general discussion about university life, careers and benefits and barriers to university.
