Recently the U15's girls' basketball travelled to Terrigal to compete in the Combined High Schools final 8 knockout. The team consisted of Cate Hood, Lydia White, Mackenzie Parkes, Tayla Leadbitter, Bree Franklin, Tiarne Lloyd, Mackayla Cooper, Aime Jewell, Georgia Miller and Bridie White.
On the first day of competition, West Wyalong played against Endeavour Sports High School, Oxley High School and Mulwaree High School, finishing the day with 2 wins and 1 loss. This meant that West Wyalong had run second in our pool.
The following day saw West Wyalong play against a very strong and experienced Lithgow High School team. West Wyalong had the lead going into the second half but eventually lost to the eventual gold medallists. West Wyalong High School then played against Westfields Sports High School in the bronze medal game. Unfortunately, Westfields Sport High School was too strong meaning that West Wyalong High School U15's girls team had run 4th in the state.
The girls were very proud of their achievement. They would like to thank parents, teachers and students for their on-going support.
