On the 21st of September Kayden Stanton, Jack Koop, Charles Brincat, Lincoln Curtis and Chad Mitchell travelled to the Lake Cowal Conservation Centre to participate in a number of activities. The day began with students watching a mine safety video and then onto a tour around Evolution mine in their safety hats, glasses and fluro vests. Throughout the excursion students learnt about mine safety, operation, explosions and mine size. The excursion continued back to the LCCC for morning tea, lunch and then a tour around the area to learn about the land.
The day concluded with a visit to Lake Cowal to catch insects and study the water quality. Students enjoyed catching the bugs and using microscopes to study them further.
